fény-fogócska után - avagy sikerült-e elkapnunk a világító csóvát?

Nagyon izgalmasra sikeredett a FÉNY-FOGÓCSKA!
A Kutatók Éjszakája 2013. rendezvénysorozatának keretén belül este 9-11-ig birtokbe vettük a győri Építész Műteremházat. De hogyan is történt?

fény-fogócska a műteremházban

a Kutatók Éjszakája keretein belül játszunk egyet a műteremházban. sötétben még úgysem ismerjük, felderítjük így is, hogy aztán apró fénnyalábokkal mindenféle színességet elkapjunk. gyertek!

during Researchers' Night we're playing catch-me-if-you-can with light in the dark world of the Architects' Atelier. come and play with us!

the huts are built in small groups of friends (family), the communal space / installation - since it’s large - is constructed by all.
the materials are those from the forrest - that we can and that we’re allowed to use. the stories are being born while working on the structures.
• location • search for materials • but how? • try, again and again • bits and pieces of a tale • defined building process and result • defined dramaturgy of use (cinema, hideaway, bar...)
the roles of the parts and the whole manifest in the communal space. dozens of identical triangles, repeated movements, rhythm and/or boredom. than assembling on the ground. ropes are flying high over the nearby trees. knotting everything together. excitement on the rise. pulling it up, together, alert of each others moves and pauses. and still a bit higher. the weakest link counts - both in the structure and in the erection process - it (he/she) must be enough. that’s the task. it hoovers, works, hooray.

átalakítás + a város • transformation + the city

• először
mindennapi mozgásunk után a leggyakoribb téralkotás. egy meglévő megismerése, feltérképezése, lehetőségeinek felfedezése. szellemi és fizikai eszköztárunk minden elemével azon vagyunk, hogy a számunkra elérhető dolgokból a számunkra lehető legjobbá alakítsuk a már meglévő adottságokat. • egyetemistáktól kapott makettek • mindenféle anyag és szerszám • idő a megismerésre • beszélgetés a gondolatban bejárt terekről • nekiesni • a festés mindig a legkönnyebb • az első fűrészhangnál áttörik a feszélyezettség gátja • elvenni • hozzátenni • újragondolni • újracsinálni
• first
the most usual space act apart our everyday movements. discovering something already existing, learning about its possibilities. with all our mental and physical tools and instruments we are trying to form the given circumstances to the better. • mock-ups of university students •  all kinds of materials and tools • time for getting to know • talk about the imagined spaces • get started • painting is always the easiest • the first sounds of breaking also breaks the ice • to take away • to add • to rethink • to redo

• aztán
összejönni. együtt élni. a részekből egy egészet alkotni. megtalálni a szerepeket és a kapcsolódási pontokat. a meglévő láncszemeket összekapcsolni. a hiányzókat megteremteni. rendszert alkotni az átalakítottakból, újakból, folyamatos vizsgálattal, hogy mi az, ami még hiányzik. mikor indul be a gépezet? a város élni kezd.
• than
come together. live together. to form one out of the many details. searching for roles and connections. linking the existing elements. creating the missing ones. building a system out of the transformed and the new while continuously checking what’s still missing. when does the mechanism start? the city comes alive.

• see the result. imagine the process!

Szeretettel hívunk mindenkit a

a táborlakó alkotók, a MOKKA csoport művészei, a sok-sok segítő, építészek, építészhallgatók nevében

architecture camps for children

Architecture education for children has played an increasingly important role in the past decades all over the world, including Hungary. Theoretical approaches to the subject are necessary, however they play a minor role when compared to practical education - learning by doing - which is essential. Through different tasks children discover their surroundings, that nowadays mainly means their built environment. By consciously experiencing the otherwise well-known urban spaces, buildings and interiors they can learn a lot about the possibilities lying in these and also about the responsibility towards improving these quialities. The most important part of architecture education is spatial construction itself, during which the children experience different kinds of materials, build up structures and create spaces. Regardless of the scale due to their three dimensional qualities these experiments use all senses and improve creativity without the need for multiple abstraction.
As part of my reserach on architecture education (MOME DLA) and teaching architectural design at the Széchenyi István University (SZE) the role of intensive programs such as childrens camps became of great importance in the past few years. Through the short introduction of three of these camps I would like to introduce the work methods, their resuls showing the possibilities and importance of architectural education for children.
In the summer of 2012 architecture students built their own design, a market (see villageBUILDING) for a small Hungarian village. During the construction and together with the students we organized a summer camp for the children of the village between the age of 7 and 13. We helped them discover their everyday surroundings, built models of their imaginary rooms and a hut where we could all fit in. Most importantly, the children used the same materials and tools as the students for the market to construct a tower as high as they could.
At the Department Building of Architectural Design at SZE (the so called Black Box) we had two summer camps for children attending primary school. One was focusing on the built environment through the atelier building itself by exploring and inhabiting its spaces and also by building models for different purposes. The other was dealing with the relationship between natural and built environment, including how and why people change their surroundings by building. The children built different archetypical huts (shelter, chapel, lookout) and a boat that they could use. In addition to learning about spatial qualities, as the pictures show, recycling and sustainability also play important roles during these camps.
